Many of us embrace that love is a gamble. There is nothing more “all in” than playing with the stakes of your heart. For Nellie and Abe, there was nothing that could sway them from rolling the dice.
Beating the odds
On an ordinary afternoon, Nellie met Abe for what she thought was a work party at Trump Soho in Manhattan. To her surprise, Abe had arranged the night to serve as a significant stepping-stone in their relationship.
With the help of Brilliant Event Planning, Abe surprised Nellie with a casino themed proposal emphasized by the craps table in the middle of the room. This concept referenced their love of traveling to Las Vegas together.
As she approached the table she read the words “Will you marry me?” alongside a deck of playing cards that each had a different reason why Abe loved her printed on them. Her sister, hiding off to the side, could not contain her excitement and emerged from her hiding place before Nellie had a chance to answer Abe’s proposal. With a priceless look on her face, Nellie screamed “YES!” which was followed by a stream of confetti and a parade of loved ones.
Where it all started
It is a beautiful thing when two people want nothing in the world other than each other’s happiness. For these newlyweds, that blessing transpired at a very young age. The pair met when they were 13-years-old shortly after Abe joined Nellie’s homeroom at school in New Jersey. They have been inseparable ever since, never sharing a dull moment.
Their fondness for gaming started while they were in college. Some of Nellie’s most cherished memories involve their all-nighter game nights held on the upper floor of his parent’s house. To this day being alone with Abe in any given space is one of her favorite things. The room never fails to rumble with laughter and silliness, as if they are back in middle school.
After years of growth and anticipation Nellie finally got to marry the love of her life. The couple said, “I do” at the luxurious St. Regis Hotel in New York City. Gruber Photographers witnessed a celebration that cannot be put into words – so here are some photographs.
