Our commitment

Gruber Photographers wants everyone to be able to use gruberphotographers.com, including people with disabilities. We design and build this website with accessibility in mind, and we keep improving it.

The standard we follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content easier to use for people with a wide range of disabilities.

We believe this website partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conforms means some parts of the content may not yet fully meet the standard. We are working on those parts and welcome your feedback.

What we've done

  • Pages use real headings and landmarks, so screen reader and keyboard users can move around quickly.
  • A “Skip to main content” link lets keyboard users jump past the menu.
  • Meaningful images have text alternatives.
  • Form fields have labels, and errors are explained in text.
  • Animations respect the “reduce motion” setting on your device.
  • We test key pages with automated tools and by hand with a keyboard.

Accessibility preferences on this site

This site includes an optional accessibility menu, opened with the Accessibility button at the edge of the screen. It lets you enlarge text, add spacing, switch to a more readable font, change contrast or color saturation, highlight links and headings, use a reading guide, stop animations, enlarge the cursor, strengthen focus outlines, have text read aloud, and jump to any section of the page.

Your choices are saved only in your browser on this device. We do not collect them. The menu is a convenience: it is not how this site meets accessibility standards, and it does not replace the screen reader, magnifier or other assistive technology you already use.

Tools you may already have

  • Zoom in or out with Ctrl and + / - (Cmd on a Mac).
  • Reader view in Safari, Firefox and Edge shows a page as plain, resizable text.
  • Your device's settings can enlarge text, increase contrast, reduce motion, or turn on a screen reader such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA or JAWS.

The W3C's Better Web Browsing guide explains these settings for every major browser.

Known limitations

We know about these issues and are working on them:

  • Some lighter text and some buttons do not yet have enough color contrast against their background.
  • The drop-down menus in the desktop header open on mouse hover. Keyboard users can reach every page through the main section pages, such as Weddings or Milestones.
  • The video behind the heading of the Cinematography page plays on a loop without a pause button. It is hidden if your device is set to reduce motion, and the accessibility menu's “Stop animations” option pauses it.
  • The floating reviews badge changes the review it shows every few seconds.

Some content on this site comes from other companies, such as the chat window, the video player and our reviews page. We choose accessible providers where we can, but we can't fully control their content. If any of it doesn't work for you, contact us and we'll help another way.

Compatibility

This site is designed to work with recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox, and with common screen readers including VoiceOver, NVDA and JAWS.

We aim to reply within two business days. It helps if you tell us the page address and what went wrong.
