What could be more quintessentially New York than an elegant black and white winter wedding at The Waldorf Astoria? Liz and Josh chose it for that reason, but also because it held special memories for Liz. “My grandfather used to deliver laundry to the Waldorf many years ago, so it was particularly meaningful to my family.” And New York wedding photographer, Jeremy Saladyga, was there to capture the special day.
Their gorgeous invitations by Smock Letterpress were inspired by the Art Deco details of the venue and the black and white color palette continued throughout the white and ivory centerpieces to the favors – black and white cookies!
But the detail that really personalized their wedding was that Liz incorporated her love of one of the most beloved 80’s icons – ALF! “I have a favorite stuffed animal from when I was younger, an ALF doll, who I knew had to be incorporated into the wedding somehow.” The flower girl and ring bearer carried the dolls down the aisle (decked out in tuxedos, of course) and they even made an appearance at the after party. “They dressed up, wore name tags and mingled with the guests. ” We wish this fun-loving couple all the best – congratulations Liz and Josh.
