Picture it: colorful villas and lemon groves lining sprawling cliffs, an azure sea meeting a strip of white on the horizon while the bluest-of-the-blue sky meets it from above; fishing boats and swimmers gathering at the shores and colorful deep sunsets of pink and orange hues signal the ending of the day: welcome to Positano. If all these elements seem like a dream come true, it certainly was for Gruber Photographer, Maike, who had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shoot Kristen and Scott enjoying their fabulous wedding weekend on Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
On the day before the wedding, the couple and their fourteen guests were shuttled to neighboring Sorrento where they enjoyed a cooking class, wine tutorial in a cave, and a home made dinner at Villa Ida. The following day Maike captured the bride in her stunning dress (by Amy Kuschel), her sister and father partaking in a near-vertical ride uphill towards Comune di Positano where the nuptials took place. Once the sun set on the coastal town, the newly branded Mr. and Mrs. hosted their dinner reception at Le Terrazze overlooking the Mediterranean sea. After speeches were made and toasts of limoncello were finished, the party continued at the Amalfi Coast’s premier nightclub, Music on the Rocks. It certainly lived up to it’s name with with a DJ spinning electro-pop and dance hits surrounded by neon lights and an interior consisting of exposed rocks from wall to ceiling. With a destination such as this, who needs a honeymoon? As they say in Italian: Congratulazioni e mille baci!
