The thing I love most about photography is how personal is. I witness and capture clients at monumental junctures in their lives and experience their joys alongside them.
Holly Peterson and I have worked together since we met to shoot her wedding in New York City. As she had children, I was asked to photograph key moments in their childhood. As she spent time with her extended family, she asked that I document those special times for everyone. Her stepmother, Joan Ganz Cooney, who created Sesame Street, tells me I took her favorite head-shot ever. Her father, Pete Peterson, asked me to shoot the cover of his biography that recounted how he rose from his Greek immigrant roots to the highest echelons of American business. Holly’s brother, Michael and his lovely bride, Tara, invited me to shoot their wedding…another occasion for me to see many members of that one family. A family with varied lives I have been lucky to be a part of and have documented for generations to enjoy.
Holly asked me to do the author photo for her first novel, NY Times best seller, The Manny. Holly has written a second novel called, The Idea of Him. She and I thought it would be wonderful to celebrate by offering all Gruber clients and friends a special giveaway of her book alongside this romantic candle and Barney’s Gift Card. Enter and enjoy!
