Brooke and Michael had their first date on January 11, 2013 at Elsa in the East Village. While they both had long weeks and it was a rainy Friday, they thankfully decided to go through with the date. That dinner ended up lasting six hours. They had a second date “less than 72 hours later” and a third shortly after that. A year later, the two celebrated their anniversary at the NoMad Hotel. Brooke described the restaurant as “where we’d had one of our favorite meals (and taken one of our favorite pictures) a few months into our relationship. After dinner, we asked our waitress to take another picture of us. This one would end up a little more special.” She recounted the exact proposal:
“Brooke Grossman, a year ago today you walked into my life and changed everything, and I don’t want to spend a single day without you. I will love you and honor you forever. Will you marry me?”— Michael
They celebrated with a glass of champagne and then called their families. Brooke said, “…before going back to Elsa to relive our first date, but when we got to our table at the NoMad Hotel‘s Library Bar, both of our families were there waiting for us.”
Brooke and Michael were married on May 9, 2015 with a August 29, 2015 ceremony and reception at the Seawane Club, a beautiful golf and country club in Hewlett Harbor, New York. The couple planned their wedding completely on their own. Brooke described their special day as “beautiful, joyous, and fun.”
