Albums

Your wedding album should express your individuality. Gruber Photographers, Inc. will inform you of the different album options available.

The Capri Album

Custom Archival Album

Ultimately, there are three decisions that have to be made by you. These are: what kind of album you prefer, which photos you like and how many, and finally how will they be sequenced and mounted. This process can take around five to eight months.

The Capri Album (click sample above)

This leather-bound book comes in flush or reversible styles. The photos are mounted to 1/16" thick boards and are sewn together into a leather cover. With the flush book, the image becomes the page. With the reversible book, the page is larger and has a border of paper around the image. The latter option will accommodate several small photographs or one large photograph.

The Archival Album (click sample above)

The archival wedding albums preferred by Gruber Photographers, Inc. are available at exclusive stores such as Kate's Paperie, T. Anthony and Tiffany's. A custom archival wedding album can be put together by a book binder to your personal specifications, which will include the photograph size, number of pages, cover material, and type of paper for examples: check weitzcoleman.com.

Album Costs

A Bride and Groom album (10 x 10) can cost from $1,500 to $4,000. A Parent album (5 x 7) can cost from $800 to $1500. The average Bride and Groom album costs about $2,500 and the average Parent album costs $1,000.

Gruber Photographers offers album design services that can range from guiding you through the process of sizing prints after you have created the mock-up to working with you to choose photos and design a mock-up for you. Design fees of $50 per hour may apply depending on the amount of assistance you require.

Print Order Fulfillment

It takes approximately three to five days to process a large print order. This includes: receiving and checking the print order, flagging all black & white contact sheets with sizes, quantities and codes. The same process will take place for color proofs. We will confirm all specifications re: chosen negatives, paper type and printing style (i.e. matte or glossy, 1/4" borders or borderless). Once the order has been processed it can take between two and six weeks to fulfill. We will deliver black & white and color orders to labs, retrieve print orders, file negatives and bill for print orders.

Album Fulfillment

Make an appointment for an album consultation meeting to decide on what kind of album you prefer. Design a mock-up. Create a print order for the prints. Then it takes approximately six to eight weeks to make all the prints. Once the prints have been made it takes approximately two to five days to sequence and number the photographs. Meet with the production manager for a print approval meeting. Then all the album specifications are discussed and the order form is filled out (i.e. printing on the spine, color of leather and page trim, etc.) Then it takes approximately four to six weeks to either bind the photos into a Capri Album or mount the photos into an archival album. The entire process can take four to eight months depending of the quantity and quality of prints and number of pages.
