“I like his passion! I love his photojournalism style and how he captures the most precious moments of life,” she says. When Terry found out that he was selected, his first response was “What a honor to be a part of Grace Ormonde’s publication! Last week we were featured twice in her digital issue, this is great!”
It’s official, we will be adding the “As seen in” logo to our website shortly. Stay tuned.
We’ve been keeping this under wraps and are so happy to share our work with you in this week’s People Magazine! When we were approached by photographer Mary Ellen Matthews to assist in photographing Hilaria Thomas and Alec Baldwin’s super-secret wedding bash, we were of course, well, thrilled! Our very own Maike Schulz and Zev Greenfield were on hand to capture the lovely wedding held at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral and then on to the Kimmel Center at NYU, Alec’s alma matter. Wishing them nothing but happiness!
Last week Go Studios hosted a cocktail party to celebrate the opening of their new Penthouse daylight studio and the start of summer. “The new location features sweeping views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline, a massive skylight, and a sun-drenched, spacious, beautifully-appointed interior,” says Go Studio’s Assistant, Natalie (who also happens to be one our photographer’s assistants). With the naturally-lit studio space and city skyline providing perfect background fixtures, Terry had fun manipulating the color settings and features on the images taken with his digital Leica Camera AG to produce some interesting compositions of the party attendees. Little known fact: Terry viewed this studio space before deciding to set up shop in our current Chelsea studio on West 26th Street.
Go Studios has four versatile spaces conveniently located in Chelsea and the Garment District that provides both studio space and equipment rentals to meet all photographic needs. For more information about Go Studio’s visit their website here.
Check it out! Our friends over at Inside Weddings just featured a wedding shot by Gruber Photographers in their latest Summer 2012 issue. Heather and Dave’s nuptials took place over at the landmark Plaza Hotel this past winter for their classic all-white New York Wedding. Planned by Lindsay Landman Events and designed by Mark Rose their creative talents allowed our visionary photographers, Terry and Jeremy, to capture all the night’s magical moments guided by a stunning backdrop. Check out more highlights and details from the event here.
If you think you have a large family, check this out …
265 Schwarz Strong. That’s how many Schwarz descendants gathered to meet their relatives, some for the very first time, at their family reunion April 29th in South Orange, NJ. What started as a family tree homework assignment, became a huge event with relatives flying in from all over the country. As one of the attendees tells the NJ Jewish News, “Last time people were saying, What are you doing here? I’m a cousin. People were doing business with each other for 30 or 40 years and did not know they were related until they walked in!”
Twenty years ago at Schwarz’s first reunion, they captured the occasion with a banquet photo shot by Standard Flash. This year’s organizer had read “Making Sure No Guest is Forgotten” the Times article about our New York Banquet Photography services and called on Gruber to continue their family’s tradition. As it turns out the Standard Flash photographer was our mentor Jayson using our camera twenty years earlier!

Our New York event photographers were presented with a very exciting opportunity last month to photograph the opening event at the 8th annual Advertising Week!
On October 3rd, Madison Avenue’s Annual Advertising Week kick-off started with a bang as the MySpace AMP’d Up Opening Concert performed at the Best Buy Theater.
Gruber Photographers’ Maike and Mindy were thrilled to be the lucky New York event photographs for the entire event. From start to finish they covered the pre-show press conference, the backstage VIP area, and the excited crowd enjoying performances from artists Natasha Bedingfield, Far East Movement, and B.o.B. But the main event seemed to take place during the pre-show press conference when Justin Timberlake, MySpace’s newest creative director, took the mic and gave his insight on the social networking and music sharing website’s future.
While Justin Timberlake didn’t stick around too long for the concert, we still captured the MySpace owners, brothers Chris and Tim Vanderhook enjoying the concert with their wives, and mingling with Billboard Editorial staffers, Advertising Week executives, and the MySpace marketing team.
Our New York event photographers enjoy being a part of social and corporate events in addition to the personal milestones that make up our signature Gruber Photographers images. We are honored that MySpace contacted us to capture the concert to relaunch the MySpace website and the vision they have for their brand.
Facebook is a NYC wedding photographer’s dream. What better way to showcase your latest and greatest work, get immediate feedback and have your clients sharing the photos with their friends?! So up our Facebook page went. But we wanted to go big, so we decided that anyone who ‘Liked’ our Facebook page and entered the sweepstakes between July and September would be eligible for the Grand Prize of a full day of photography with NYC wedding photographer, Terry Gruber! The response was overwhelmingly positive and 931 Gruber Facebook Likes later, we are happy to announce that the winner is Heather Rodenbach!
Congratulations and we look forward to spending the day with you (as long as it is not for photographing objects for your insurance records)! A HUGE thanks to all that participated.
But the fun is not over yet. Make sure to check the Gruber Photographers Facebook page often because we are going to be announcing many more fun giveaways in the near future. And of course we will share photos from whatever event we photograph with our winner, Heather.
And since we were already going big, we thought it would be fun to record the Gruber staff choosing the winner and posting it for all of our friends to see. So without further ado…. enjoy!
Who doesn’t like something for nothing?! There is still 6 weeks left to enter to win a Day of Photography by Terry Gruber. All you have to do is Like Gruber Photographer’s Facebook page for a chance to win! If you are throwing a monumental party, welcoming a little one into the world or just want some beautiful portraits, then Like the Gruber Facebook page for your chance to work with Terry.
Congratulations to Elyse and Justin whose New York Wedding was featured in the Fall/Winter issue of the The Knot! Photographed by the talented Maike Schulz, their clean and modern wedding was held at the American Museum of Natural History.
